Dr. Magness retired from the private practice of orthodontics in 2021.   

 

 

Dr. Magness, a native Texan, graduated from the University of Texas Dental School and served as an Air Force Dental Officer in Athens, Greece. He returned to Houston to complete his orthodontic education and in 1965 opened his orthodontic office in the Clear Lake area. was an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Orthodontic Department for 29 years. He has earned a reputation in the orthodontic community for expertise in clinical orthodontics. He is particularly gifted in the diagnosis and treatment of complex orthodontic problems and artistic finishing of cases. During his career, Dr. Magness has helped many patients with severe orthodontic problems have a functional and beautiful smile without invasive jaw surgery. Dr. Magness is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontists and has received numerous orthodontic clinical awards for excellence.  

 

Dr. Magness enjoys being a husband to his wife Jeana. He has numerous interests outside of dentistry including travel, golf, photography and his family. They have two exceptional children: Marla, a fellow orthodontist at Magness Orthodontics, and Robby, the designer of the clothing label “Grown & Sewn” in New York City. They are blessed with four grandchildren.
