This 7 year old little girl presented with a crossbite of her back teeth on the right side. This orthodontic problem needs to be corrected while she still has baby teeth because at that time she is still early in the growth phase of her face. We do not want her lower jaw to grow crooked because she is shifting her jaw to the right side to bite. She wore a palate appliance for about 6 months to widen the upper jaw and hold the correction. This simple intervention also widened the upper jaw in the front to create room for the eruption of her upper front teeth (incisors).
